50's soc hop...

A few weekends ago we went to a 50's soc hop at the church. I think the 50's would've been a great time to live, did everyone really just dance with no reserve? A soc hop gives the impression that when the music starts it's time to jump up and start doing the Lindy hop or Swing. Can you imagine how fun that would be if we could all just dance away (assuming we knew how)! Maybe it's the movies that give that impression. Some day I'll do a post on why life would be better if it were a musical, I know I'm not the only one that thinks so. So our little soc hop didn't have much dancing but there were fun limbo, hula hoop, bubble blowing and pie eating contests. Plus hamburgers and fries, what more could you ask for!
I picked this costume up at Target many year ago at an after-Halloween sale and she has gotten lots of use out of it. I think it's about time to pass it on to Lily though.
This was the best we could do for Lily and Jack wasn't into dressing up but still had a great time.
Kate working the hula hoop!
Yummy Burgers :)
And the family photo before heading out to boogie!

What a fun party. The 50's was the greatest time. We used to have a day at high school we called "Greaser Day", and got to dress up and chew gum in school! It was my favorite.

That's where that picture came from....love it. I was wondering why Ray had something thrown over his shoulder.....Hey he's cool anyway LOL. But it was a dance nicht...totally fun. Kate you looked like a fabulous hulla dancer. Lily will love that skirt when you pass it on.
