A little of what's been happening around here

There have been a lot of fun things going on around here lately - just a few of them are swimming lessons wrapping up, Kate's field trip to the park, an awesome rodeo parade, Kate's school talent show where she performed 2 stellar cartwheels, taking Wiggles for show and tell, wacky hair day, Preschool graduation, 1st grade ending 3 days early, and smores and hot dogs in the mountains last night to kick off summer. Here are the pics to prove it all. They always get to play and go down the slide at the end of class.

It's my favorite place to take lessons because they let Lily and I swim while the other two are in lessons. Mostly she just waded in the water which was great.
Proud preschooler, he had just finished a skit on the big highschool stage and after they had the preschoolers walk across the stage in the spotlight to receive this diploma, it was adorable.

Wacky hair from the front, looking pretty cute actually.

And wacky from the back!

Jack enjoying the great outdoors.

The pink lady pretending to eat. Lately she must have a pink plate, pink cup, pick chair etc etc!
This is where Lily was for the entire parade, she was a little unsure of all the horses and loud noises. But a firm grip on Grandpa was all she needed to get her through.
He had the best seat to watch, the guy on the trailer was snapping a whip as he rode that horse on top of the trailer (and he only has one arm)- pretty amazing!
Jack loves visiting Kate's classroom. He just made himself at home as she shared Wiggles with the class.
Can you tell the difference between first and last day of school? First day is on the left, it's hard to tell with these photos since I was standing closer to her in the first one but she did grow a bit.

And finally a shot of Kate at her park field trip. With the school system running out of money or out of money already the teachers walked with the kids to the park and asked parents to provide activities. I think it was the best field trip. Between all the parents there was this parachute with balls, sack races, three legged races, jump rope, baseball, wheelbarrow races, balloon races, frisbees and otter pops to top it off. All the kids seemed to love it, I especially did because I took Jack and Lily and nobody seemed to mind that they joined right in. I have the funniest picture of Jack after he fell during the 3 legged race, he was paired with a boy a foot taller than him and with Jack's leg still in the pillowcase the boy is trying to drag him across the line. I'd put it on but since we don't know the boy I thought I better not. You'll have to use your imagination.

Lily by the pool is adorable. Jack is awesome as always but scores extra cool points for watching the parade while still sitting on his sweet ride, shades on and hat pointing forward. Kate does look a bit more grown up in the "last day of school photo." Maybe it's the hairband instead of the ponytails. But you can tell she taller by looking at the doorbell as well.

Great post. Looks like you've been busy and having fun. Everyone is growing so fast. We can't wait for school to be out too! Nice work Kate and Jack on graduating this year! I love your rec. center. I'd love a facility like that for swim lessons. We just started...and my kids are icecubes once lessons are over (especially with the lovely wind here!)
