Our trip

Here are some pictures from our trip last weekend. Our friend Karen went through the temple for the first time and it was well worth the trip to be there. We also convinced Jami to come for a visit at the same time so that made it even more fun. We had the best time, we got to see good friends and just play. We stayed with Kate's sweet friend Emme and family and it was as if no time had passed at all. Kate surprised me by going to bed in the girls room knowing that I would be leaving the house to go out. She was in heaven the whole weekend and there were many tears shed by her when we finally said goodbye. Robin and I have plans to somehow reunite them around the age of 13, force them to be friends (although I can't imagine them not wanting to be) and make them have all the same rules/curfews and basically force them into being "good" teenagers! Traveling with just Kate was so much fun and I can't wait for our next girls trip. In fact we are going out this weekend but just to the Hannah Montana show 1/2 hour away, just a small excursion but way too girly to make Dad or Jack tag along! I didn't get a picture of everyone we saw but here are a few pics of the weekend. I'm so glad that my friends would make the effort to come see us and play at COSI and the movies and out to eat.We hit some of our favorite restaurants and a little tip for you... while looking to kill time and wanting hot chocolate Robin and I discovered Dairy Queen has pretty darn good stuff - who knew?

Outside the temple with Karen and friends. I didn't get a picture of her daughter Lindsey but we had a lot of fun spending time with them.
Rachel, or as Kate likes to call her "big Rachel" since when we lived there she had a little friend named Rachel too. Baby girl Bella who's not really a baby anymore was off having fun.
Steph and Creed - cute, cute, cute boy! And of course beautiful mother, I can't get over how cute her hair cut is - Love iT!
Karen and Brittney, Karen has a little boy Owen who is Jack's equal in size and weight and I was disappointed not to have the two of them together again, maybe someday.

Ah, good ol' Panera. I don't think I can even count how many times I've eaten there. Between eye studies keeping our husbands away at night (we didn't need much of an excuse not to cook dinner) and stopping in at the mall for a quick bagel this place is Yummy! This is Robin, me, Jami, Toni, Erin, and Trish. (all three on the right are moving away soon and I was so glad to see them before they moved on)

I like this picture of the kids, but I'm wondering what Austin (the baby)was thinking. He looks like he's about to have some angry words with Harper.
And I wasn't about to leave without eating at Chipotle, I'm sure Cafe Rio must give it a run for it's money since I hear that comparison so often but since we have neither here we enjoyed a yummy lunch before heading off to the airport. Kids have the best memories, Kate replayed a visit there that took place at least a year or two ago with great detail including the bees that we saw in the bushes.

And finally we had an hour to kill before getting back to the airport so Jami and I stopped at Jeni's ice cream. Jami's favorite was a chocolate with Cayenne pepper - hello burns the throat! I went for an almond vanilla something or other and Kate had a honey chocolate. This is not too daring considering the vast and unique flavors they have but we enjoyed. I felt we needed Steph there to guide us through the flavors. next time we'll have to plan better.
Now that Jami and I have this girl thing in our system the ideas started flowing. We have lots of ideas for our next trip. Next time we need our friend Erin there though, it wasn't the same without seeing Everyone.
